KORE announces the signing of Michal Prokop

2 January 2007  |
It was revealed that Fourcross World Champion Michal Prokop had a secret weapon during his pursuit of the rainbowstriped jersey in New Zealand earlier this year. "KORE Components had asked me to evaluate their cockpit components last Spring. I liked the B1B stem, BFD bar, Elite IBeam seat and seat post so much I decided to use them the entire season, culminating in my win of the UCI Fourcross World Championship in Rotorua, New Zealand this year", says 25 years old Author factory rider Michal Prokop from the Czech Republic. KORE today announced the signing of Fourcross World Champion and BMX sensation Michal Prokop from the Czech Republic to a 3year racing and product development contract retroactive to July 1, 2006. The retroactive part is a bit unusual said Lance Bohlen, KORE's general manager. "Michal liked our parts during testing, so we kept trying to find a way to make the deal work. Not able to announce anything until the deal was signed, we had to sit on the sidelines knowing all along that Michal was using KORE parts to win the World's Fourcross down in New Zealand. Now we can tell everybody!" Part of the deal is to have Michal intimately involved in the development of new handlebars, stems, seats and seat posts with an idea to eventually commercialize some designs under a KORE Michal Prokop Signature Series label. Look for Michal to race 2007 with KORE stems, handlebars, I-Beam seats and seat posts, as well as the innovative KIS front end system in selected events. www.kore-usa.com
